Command palette
Search every blockodile action. Fuzzy. Keyboard and click.
Open with ⌘K on macOS, Ctrl+K on Linux and Windows (the keycaps blockodile draws always name the key your keyboard has), or click the keycaps in the titlebar. Type, move with ↑ ↓, run with Enter, leave with Escape.
The list scrolls with the selection: the highlighted row never hides under the edge.
Fuzzy search
Each word is a token. Characters of a token only need to appear in order — they do not have to sit next to each other.
| You type | It finds |
|---|---|
jump to 4 | Jump to session 4 |
jump 4 | Jump to session 4 |
j 4 | Jump to session 4 |
add files | Add Files (or any module whose name matches) |
new cl | New: Claude |
remove foo | Remove project: Foo (empty projects only) |
move files top right | Move files top right · 4×3 at 9,1 (add 4x3 for a size) |
Tighter matches float to the top.
Groups
Rows are grouped the way the app is grouped:
- App — Open / Close settings
- Session — new terminal, launchers, jump, rename, close
- Workspace — new project, rename, remove an empty project, Show in folder, copy path
- Blocks — add a module, focus / swap by direction, fullscreen, move to a zone, remove the focused block (see Tiling blocks)
- Layout — apply / pin / delete templates, save the current grid
- Localhost — stop the process behind a listening port, when a Localhost block is on the grid
Each row has a 5×5 icon (agent brands on launchers). Bound shortcuts sit on the right as
Cmd/Ctrl+….
Commands that do not apply right now are hidden. You will not see Remove focused block until a block header is selected. Remove project: … appears only for projects with zero terminals (herdr already dropped the workspace; blockodile keeps the sidebar row locally). Add Terminal is hidden if that singleton is already on the grid.
After you pick
Most commands run immediately. A few need a name:
- Rename session / project — the palette closes and the sidebar row becomes an input
- Save layout as template — the titlebar name field appears
There is no second prompt widget. Escape cancels the input.
See Shortcuts to bind a chord, or Jumping sessions if you just want a number.
